LTA has released a poster regarding the amendment of Service 66 in Bukit Batok area.

It is unclear why the service had to be amended instead of making a route variant. (Example of a route variant: SMRT Sv 961 & 961# or also known as 961C) Based on the comments shown in Tower Transit's post (Sv 66 operator), many residents has expressed unhappiness as it is the sole service from Bukit Batok to head to Jurong East MRT cheap & direct.(Express 506 is a alternative but additional charges makes it not worth for the long run and concession is not applicable for this service) Apart from that, students from Millennia Institute, Princess E. Pr Sch & Eden Sch will have to  transfer if they are taking Sv66 which may add additional travelling time and eventually, be late for school.

Hence, i would like to suggest a new bus route, Bus 66# or 66M to cater to those in the post-amended sector of 66 heading to Jurong  East MRT or Beauty World MRT (as LTA stated that the amendment was to cater to those heading to DTL) while the current 66 will remain unchanged.
