Thanks for your continued support for my petition.
I just can't seem to catch a break. If you remember, the previous Deputy Commissioner, Bengaluru (Urban), J. Manjunath was arrested and suspended after he came under a cloud over corruption allegations.
There was another article in Deccan Herald about Singer Lucky Ali accusing local IAS officer of colluding with those encroaching his land. My letter's to the editor of Deccan Herald published in the paper today.
Jai Hind
Text of the letter below:
I read with interest the story “Land mafia grabbing our land with IAS officer's help: Singer Lucky Ali”
Local officials wield enormous powers when it comes to land records. They hide behind the bureaucratic maze, even when it comes to court orders.
Take the example of my father’s land. After the ex-serviceman waited for years for local officials to complete registration, I took the matter to the Karnataka High Court. The honorable court passed an order directing officials of Bengaluru Urban DC to review the matter within “6 months.” Over 5 years after that order, the papers haven’t been reviewed or approved.
It is interesting to see Lucky Ali’s tweet generating such buzz; but will local bureaucrats be swayed?
