In 2021 the waste disposal site situated two kilometers outside Lamberts Bay started burning regularly and we cried out for help.

The last four years of communication between Provincial Government, the local community organization Green Town Drive, and Cederberg Municipality has resulted in the closure of the waste disposal site for household waste in January 2025. The next planned phase is the development of a transfer station, recycling depot and the rehabilitation of the current landfill occupying the riverbank of the Jackals Vlei.

We would like to thank all signatories to the Petition pertaining to Lamberts Bay’s waste  disposal site, Provincial Government Administrators, members of Green Town Drive, and the Cederberg Municipality for acting and moving towards a solution that is environmentally responsible, aesthetically pleasing, and sustainable for all enhabitants of Lambert's Bay.
