Friends,
As of this writing, we’ve raised nearly $17,000 for our cause. It’s a tremendous start, and we’re very encouraged at the steady stream of contributions that have been rolling in since last Saturday.
I ask that you continue to share our cause on social media. The above Google Earth photo says it all – this proposed plant is far too close to the Cedar river and our homes. We’re at nearly 6,000 signatures but need more if this is going to be more than something of local interest. The impact on the Cedar river will be devastating if this plant is built, and what’s remarkable is that King County is going to allow this even though it has spent $57 million over two decades to restore salmon habitat on the river. If you haven’t read the story, have a look here: https://www.kuow.org/stories/an-asphalt-plant-next-to-the-cedar-river-why
If you haven’t yet made a contribution, please do so today: https://www.crowdrise.com/o/en/campaign/savecedarriver (use this link and not the change.org donation link.)
Thanks to all of you that have contributed your money, time, and effort.
