Lakeshore Dr Residents Fed Up in Klamath Falls! This Road is Dangerous!
The Issue
We, the concerned residents are fed up with local government in Klamath Falls. There is NO traffic enforcement or concern about the volume of speeding vehicles on this road. Project works said there are 3500 daily car trips on Lakeshore Dr and residents are beyond fed up with local leadership. We have county emails dating back to 2016 addressing these same concerns and NOTHING has been done. We're tired of the nepotism, lying and corruption. Semi trucks barrel through here daily, despite no truck signs and school bus zones. Drivers endanger the safety of residents and wildlife.
We all pay property taxes on Lakeshore Dr and believe it is the responsibility of our local government to ensure the safety, well-being and protection of residents, children and state protected wildlife on this road and in other areas of the county as well. We're all fed up and are voting for new candidates in the May 21, 2024 election. We deserve better!
The lack of enforcement to assist in monitoring speeds of semi trucks, that are not allowed on the residential road per State DOT regulations, makes it even more dangerous. County commissioners refuse to prioritize safety concerns and/or install traffic calming devices. Safety is not their priority, annexation is. Derek Degroot has monopolized all transportation entities by creating a Traffic Committe, which he is the president of. Residents can't even contact ODOT or OR State Police anymore. Local leadership care more about money in their pockets and power. Where are our tax dollars going? Why is it impossible to obtain financial tax records showing where county resident tax dollars are going? If we do not get a new, strong Sheriff and two new commissioners, we are all in deep trouble.
Local leadership are already annexing properties one by one without public knowledge. When are the lies and corruption going to end? With new commissioners. Derek Degroot is spearheading the annexation and continues to lie to the People of Klamath Falls.
