Update to McKinley Condo 3 Proposal: Developer files suit
Apr 16, 2023

On Thursday at 6 PM the Central Business District (CBD) Task Force is presenting to the Plan Commission a “draft chapter” of a comprehensive plan that sets forth a new vision for our way of life in downtown Lake Forest.

This entire discussion is insultingly premature.

—A comprehensive plan sets forth a vision and goals for a city's future, and provides the overall foundation for all land use regulation in the city. Lake Forest hasn’t updated their plan since 1998.

—BTB is incensed at the City’s piecemeal approach to future development in Lake Forest. We need a 30,000 ft analysis of our city as a whole, all four wards, lead by experts in nationally renowned architecture and urban planning. We need wide spread community engagement and not just one barely publicized meeting where the plan is presented but there is no actual dialogue.

Until a full breadth analysis is done, let’s recognize Thursday’s presentation for what it is: the first step toward a developer’s dream of a new Lake Forest city center.

Do you want to live in a town where parking garages and condos dominate your city center?

Call to Action:

Thursday. April 20th. Show up. Speak up. Write the Plan Commission Write your alderman.
