Dear Friends and Concerned Residents of Lake Forest,

There are five Historic Districts in the City of Lake Forest.  Using a set of standards from the Lake Forest City Ordinance 155, the Historic Preservation Commission (“HPC“) carefully analyzes each proposal to ensure that these Districts maintain the look and character for which Lake Forest has become known.  In July, for the third time, the HPC rejected a proposal for a large condominium building fronting Westminster; the commissioners deemed it incompatible with the surrounding homes.  The petitioner is appealing this decision before the City Council on September 7.  We urge you to email the Mayor and City Council and simply tell them to uphold the HPC vote, follow our City Ordinance, and BLOCK THE BOX!  Include your name and address; this is an important issue to all Lake Foresters.
