The Issue
The Lake County Planning Commission unanimously denied Dollar General's application to build a new store in Kelseyville, directly across from the high school. Dollar General appealed this decision to the Board of Supervisors. The Board will decide this matter on July 21, 2015 at 10:00. Please join us in asking the Board to support the Planning Commission's decision and uphold the denial of the Dollar General application.
The Planning Commission's reasons for denying the application included:
• Traffic congestion
• Child and pedestrian safety
• History of poor community relations
• Negative effect on the town's character
• Detrimental impact on local businesses
