Labor, rule out methane tax and livestock numbers cap, now!

The issue

Our Aussie farmers are some of the most sustainable, environmentally conscious farmers anywhere in the world. They love their animals, they love their farms and they want to pass their farms onto the next generation of Aussie farmers in a better way then when they found it.

Now they face another hurdle. Labor could soon introduce a methane tax or a cap on the number of livestock a farmer can own to help lower methane emissions.

Either a methane tax or a cap on the number of a livestock a farmer can own would be catastrophic for our farmers and for Aussie consumers. It would push the price of food up and force farmers out of business.

The NSW Liberals and Nationals in Government have committed to not introducing a methane tax or a cap on the number of livestock a farmer can own on their path to net zero by 2050.

Please add your name below to show your support for Aussie farmers and ensure Labor does not introduce a methane tax on agriculture or a cap on the number of livestock a farmer can own.
