Monterey Park Cats
The Issue
About a year and a half ago I was made aware of a situation in Monterey Park California. A friend was feeding, trapping, fixing and vaccinating a small colony of feral and semi-feral cats behind a shopping center. She started getting verbally assaulted by a Hector Diaz C. who owned a business in the shopping center. He began stalking her, harassing her by telling her he knew where her and her son lived and scaring her. Her cats started disappearing and he admitted to her that he took them to AC. She managed to retrieve one cat from AC but many more went missing over a short period of time. She tried to work with him and he would not listen and instead keep harassing her and threatening her cats. He has installed cameras everywhere on the property even though he is not the owner and would stay up all hours of the night to watch for her to come care for her cats. This petition went up and his business was put under pressure and he backed off and said he would allow her to trap her cats. She tried and managed to get a couple to safety but not all. More disappeared and he said he dumped them at a local park. She searched the park to no avail. He contacted me and threatened to trap more of her cats if this petition wasn't removed. Fearing for the safety of her cats I removed this petition almost a year ago.
THE PETITION IS BACK UP!
Another colony of cats nearby has also been affected. Recently one cat was severely beat up and has since been rescued. A second cat was sexually abused and killed in a horrific way and a death threat was left beside the body of the cat. A third cat was tied up with tape, abused and killed and thrown out like trash. The MP animal control will NOT allow her to trap the remaining cats and get them to safety. They are aware of the cats being killed and are NOT investigating. They are more concerned about her feeding and trapping the cats than finding the person killing and mutilating these cats. We need people to call the Monterey Park animal control and ask for them to allow for her to trap these cats and get them to safety. The harassment needs to stop! The trapping and killing/dumping needs to stop! She has been to the police and they have NOT helped her in any way shape or form.
