Dear supporters,
10,500 people have signed the petition so far. Unfortunately, that's not enough, of course.
The more people sign up, the higher a petition in the EU Petitions Committee will be weighted, especially if it is an EU wide petition, such as a petition how in this case in 12 EU languages.
The Bullfighting reject by the most European people. Even in Spain, the majority of people are against bullfighting or at least not for it.
As the recent example of Mallorca shows, where bullfighting is allowed again, it is not the citizen or the regional government that is the problem, but the state government.
Bullfighting set to return to Palma (Majorca Daily Bulletin).
Bullfighting returns to Mallorca, despite protests (Euronews).
By the way, as in all countries of the world, it is not always, but mainly politicians who block better animal welfare.
In the case of Spain, even the Spanish Constitutional Court overturned the ban on bullfighting (it was forbidden to kill Bulls) in the Balearic Islands.
Since the 9th of August, bulls in the arenas have been tortured to death again, in the name of so-called tradition. A barbaric tradition when it involves the torturing of living things.
But also in other countries, this cruelty still takes place. In France for example, where a young bull has collapsed during so-called training. He hopes in vain for help from the people present.
Young Bull collapses in Arena (vt.co).
That should not go on like this. The whole thing is financed, as already written in my petition text, also through us taxpayers' money. In the absence of viewers, this whole animal cruelty would no longer pay off if it was not indirectly co-financed by EU agricultural subsidies and structural funds (see petition text).
Please continue to share this petition in full. Please also to friends and acquaintances in other European countries. The petition is available in 12 languages.
Thank you.
Best Regards
Hans Joachim Richter
