Please Share Your Voice To Help Save Rodeo, Bull Riding & Similar Events In Los Angeles.
According to reports, the Western Sports Industry Coalition has learned that the Los Angeles proposed anti-rodeo ordinance may be heard by the Personnel, Audits, and Animal Welfare Committee (PAAW) as early as Nov. 16, 2022.
It is imperative that everyone get involved to save rodeo, bull riding and similar equestrian events in Los Angeles, by contacting each of the three members of the PAAW Committee. The purpose of these calls is to show a groundswell of opposition to the ordinance and a broad base of support for western sport events in the city of Los Angeles.
The committee's decision may be greatly influenced by the level of public participation when the ordinance is presented for discussion. The best course of action is to stop it the ordinance in committee, before it comes to a full vote.
Below are some suggestions you may wish to make; please be respectful and concise in your remarks.
In your capacity as a member of the committee hearing this issue, we urge you to take the lead. We need your commitment to OPPOSE this unnecessary and damaging ordinance, which would prohibit rodeo in the city and result in the abolition of the All-Black Bill Pickett Invitation Rodeo as well as the Mexican and Mexican American tradition of Charreria.
