L'Oreal: Stop Animal Testing Now - No More Excuses.

L'Oreal: Stop Animal Testing Now - No More Excuses.
The Issue
CeraVe, Maybelline, La Roche-Posay, Garnier, NYX, Urban Decay, Lancôme, YSL Beauty, Redken—and many more.
These are just a few of the globally recognized brands owned by L’Oréal. Collectively, they represent a massive share of the beauty industry—and with that, a significant contribution to the 20–30% of global animal testing tied to cosmetics and ingredients.
Each year, millions of animals are subjected to painful, unnecessary tests in the name of beauty. It’s time to raise our voices for those who can’t—and hold the parent company, L’Oréal, accountable.
The phrase “animal testing” is often used casually, but the reality is brutal and often hidden. If more people truly understood the cruelty behind it, it wouldn’t still be happening. Here’s a glimpse into what these animals endure:
Forced inhalation of toxic substances
Chemicals applied directly to the eyes and skin (Draize tests)
Lethal dose testing—determining how much causes death
Inhumane confinement and neglect
And that’s just the beginning. Some procedures are too graphic to describe here.
While L’Oréal claims not to test on animals themselves, they allow third-party animal testing—especially in countries where it’s legally required—creating a convenient loophole. This allows their brands to profit from animal cruelty while maintaining a false image of being “cruelty-free.”
This petition demands that L’Oréal close these loopholes and commit to a genuinely global cruelty-free policy. We’re not calling for the end of these products—we’re calling for them to exist without cruelty.
L’Oréal: Beauty doesn’t have to be cruel to be successful.
