Pictures of the poo that 'destroyed' Johnny Depp's marriage to Amber Heard were shown in court today.

His housekeeper Hilda Vargas gave her testimony in the sixth day of Depp's libel trial against News Group Newspapers at London's High Court on Tuesday.

Vargas produced several pictures of the poo that was found in the former couple's bed, which Depp has said was the reason he decided to end their marriage.

Vargas said that just over a month after she found the poo Heard became angry with her when she found out about the pictures.

"Ms Heard told me that the pictures I had taken of the faeces had destroyed her marriage.

"I was very nervous and so I apologised, even though I did not believe that their marital problems were my fault or that I had done anything wrong " -" also told Ms Heard that the faeces were there, that there was nothing I could do."

"Ms Heard argued with me saying that there were no faeces in the bed."

Vargas said she went to investigate, saying: "I pulled back the top sheet on the bed and saw a large pile of faeces. I was horrified and disgusted.

"It was clear to me that this was human faeces. I knew that the faeces could not have come from either of Mr Depp's and Ms Heard's two small dogs.

"I have cleaned up after those dogs many times and their faeces are much smaller. Further, I have never known those dogs to defecate in the bed"

Vargas then took pictures of the poo and alerted Depp's estate manager, Kevin Murphy.

She said she stopped cleaning the apartment shortly after as she felt "uncomfortable" around Heard.

"I have often heard Ms Heard yell at Mr Depp and at other people.

"She has a bad temper, in my opinion and I did not want her to yell at me"
