President Lemons announced that an interdisciplinary program of Africana Studies will be in place by Fall 2016 and that the Curriculum Committee has approved a 100-level African American history class that will meet the historical perspectives requirement. We will continue to work to get SU to increase the recruitment and retention of Black/African American and other students of color. We will also continue the effort to hire tenure track African American faculty.
