Please help us be a voice for Milo!
Milo #A5255089 is a 3 year old Siberian husky mix who was recently returned after having been adopted last year. His owner(who is mentally disabled) was hitting him on the head with a sandal, and Milo bit him on the finger while trying to protect himself. According to county regulations "a bite is a bite" and Milo has been labeled "rescue only with indemnity waiver." That means he sits in his kennel waiting for a rescue to save him, and rescues are FULL.

How can this be fair? How can DACC be so inflexible in their rules as to not take into consideration the circumstances surrounding a bite? NOT ALL BITES SHOULD BE CLASSIFIED THE SAME!!!

Milo has been friendly and affectionate with the behavior team and staff as can be seen from his behavioral notes:
"A handler approached him and he became playful with the handler, jumping on him and dancing around him. Milo then approached the second handler and began soliciting affection as well. Milo was disinterested in mingling and being social with the other dogs but was very friendly with the handlers. Due to his history of a bite in the home, Milo is designated as RESCUE ONLY WITH INDEMNITY WAIVER”
Please help us find a rescue for Milo! He should not be punished for trying to protect himself. Any news media would help too!!!!!
