This week, Nathan Winograd released proof that our deepest, darkest fear about why Los Angeles County Animal Control has gone to a system to restrict the public from accessing the kennels AT WILL. Seen above, Nathan Winograd shows a snapshot of a video capturing one of our homeless dogs being abused by a Los Angeles County Animal Control Officer. The County employee is kicking a dog as it lay in a hard-wired noose. The noose is around the dogs neck. God help the animals in the care of Los Angeles Animal Care and Control. 

If we continue to allow this appointment system, we continue to allow employees like these to abuse helpless, voiceless animals with no chance of intervention. We MUST OPEN THE SHELTERS NOW. See Nathan's post below and link to his PODCAST.

Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control officers kick a dog who is being held down with a hard-wired noose around his neck. Although transparency helps keeps abuse in check, the Department is moving to eliminate it and it has the support of organizations like the ASPCA and Best Friends Animal Society to do it.
