Dmitry Semenov successfully manages Rostov FIR and Training Center in VATSIM for the last 5 years. He trained tens of virtual controllers and hundreds of virtual pilots. We know about 27 real aviation specialists, who were trained by Dmitry. Together with a team of enthusiasts he created a pilot training system of VATRUS division from the ground up. They’ve given a new life to abandoned region, organized dozens of successful events, including Olympic Event in 2014. Dmitry has over 5000 hours as a Controller in the VATSIM network. However, all of this can end quickly. In the morning of October 30th, when Dmitry was not at his apartment (as there are supporting photos and testimonies), a connection to the network was recorded with the wrong name using his PID, which lasted two minutes. And now those two minutes can write off all Dmitry’s achievements.
Authorized representatives of the Division conducted an investigation (https://goo.gl/H2B4Jg), which results shows to us that to a Dmitry’s PC was established remote access from the Moscow IP address. This report was sent to the leadership of the European Region. However, the unknown attackers were not satisfied and continued to mail the authorities at all levels and tarnish Dmitry's reputation on well-known virtual aviation resources.
The incident took place more than a month ago and the decision of the leadership of the Region are still pending. Over the heads of Dmitry and his team, as a sword of Damocles, hangs the threat of punishment for an offense he did not commit, including suspension from work with students.
We, the undersigned, demand:
1. Acquit Dmitry, and bring about his innocence through all available channels, including informal.
2. Carry out an investigation into the incident, find real perpetrators and punish them.
