Kentucky Senate Bill 102 - Amend KRS 148.874 to allow motorized recreational vehicles such as ATVs on the Pine Mountain Trail; amend KRS 148.878 to conform; create a new section of KRS Chapter 148 to allow motorized recreational vehicles such as ATVs on the portion of Pine Mountain Trail and any other trail within the Kentucky portion of Breaks Interstate Park. In opposition of KY senate bill 102, The environmental impact of ATVs from erosion and trash being thrown out would be catastrophic to the only untouched 120 mile stretch of land in Southwest Virginia and Eastern Kentucky. The Pine Mountain Trail Conference and numerous volunteers have worked hard over the years to make the trail what it is today, from trail work to building shelters. Voice your opinion and let it be known we do not want this bill passed and save the mountain a lot of us Southwest Virginians and Eastern Kentuckians take pride in calling home, as many out of staters also enjoy the beauty.
