Hello Friends of Lanark County!

Please forgive this mass mailing and cross postings. We are sending this to all our networks and anyone who has been working on the proposed roadside herbicide spraying in Lanark County. Time is of the essence. Spraying is due to start May 30th. We need your assistance. We have pulled together a facebook page and website with a bunch of information to help us coordinate our efforts and get the word out. Please visit, follow and share these sites as broadly as you can, like them, link to them, comment and phone your neighbour about the issue. Thank you. Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 17th, is our last chance to get one more township to opt out of spraying. Lanark Higlands Township has their Council Meeting and will be considering a motion to opt out. There will be a number of excellent presentations made. We need to pack the house. Please come out and show your support. Pollinators know no borders and what gets sprayed in one township affects us all. We are asking the County of Lanark and all of it's local municipalities (Beckwith, Tay Valley, Lanark Highlands, Montague, Mississipi Mills, Drummond/North Elmsley, Perth and Carleton Place) for a moratorium on all spraying until a comprehensive and independent impact assessment has been undertaken.
