Esila Ayık 8 Nisan Çarşamba günü katıldığı eylemde eline geçen "Diktatör Erdoğan" yazılı pankart nedeniyle gece 2.30'da gözaltına alındı.
Esila kronik kalp ve böbrek hastası olmasına ve böbreklerinden kan ve köpük gelmesine rağmen ilk 5 gün ilaçlara erişimi engellendi, kalp hastalığı hafif dereceden orta dereceye yükseldi. Deprem nedeniyle hapishanede kalp sorunu yaşadı, hastaneye kaldırıldı. Hapishanede kalmaya devam etmesi sağlık sorunlarının ilerlemesine yol açmaktadır.
Belçika'da burslu olarak Ghent Üniversitesinde okuyan Esila, birkaç günlüğüne aile ve arkadaşlarını ziyaret için dönmüştü, şimdi ise sınavlarını kaçıracak olması yetmezmiş gibi, sağlık sorunlarının ilerlemesi onun hayatını tehlikeye atmaktadır. Her geçen gün durumu kötüleşen Esila Ayık için acil destek gerekmektedir.

We are contacting you for our friend and KASK Photography student Esila Ayık. She came to Turkey for 20 days to visit her friends and family. She joined an activity in Kadıköy/ İstanbul which was organized to support other unfairly arrested students. However, she was detained in April 9, at night. The cause was only a banner written "Dictator Erdoğan". This is not a crime according to the Turkish law, and is disproven by previous supreme court decisions. Nevertheless, she has been arrested for 15 days.
Her health situation is not fit for prison's conditions, and her health worsens each passing day. She has chronic heart disease and chronic kidney disease. She was not given her crucial medical pills for 6 days despite all objections. She was not provided with the necessary medical examination in that process. The validity of her health situation is not appropriate for her current conditions is approved by İstanbul Tabipler Odası (Chamber of Physicians of Istanbul).
Her lawyers reported her health status and objected to this unfair imprisonment. The answer is still being witheld. There is not a tangible step in terms of the legal process.
We, her close friends and her lawyers, find it crucial for her voice to be heard in the international press, specifically in the country she was studying since there is the possibility of her to be banned from going abroad even if she is released.
