What an incredible campaign this was!
Nearly two years ago the football world united in a statement of solidarity against the callous mercenaries who tried to plague our society with the celebration of Trophy Hunting endangered species.
It was such a whirlwind that in just 4 days, and with some 78,000 letters sent to all of Arsenal’s sponsors, Stan Kroenke announced that trophy hunting would be removed from his subscription service.
I was so proud of everyone involved!
It was also an influential part of my own life.
I had been involved in a legal battle with my former school after I had been diagnosed with epilepsy and my education broke down as a result of disability discrimination. ‘Rights’ were an incredibly relevant part of my identity.
A minor inconvenience was that I had no lawyers to fight for me!
After another year passed and I successfully fought an eight-day trial, despite facing a £250k legal team.
As a life-long rights-activist, I now pursue a career in law so that I can one day be offer far more than just passion. I dream of being in a position to professionally confront organisations and people who breach Rights and bring them to justice.
