Papst: Barbarei des Krieges sofort beenden!

Papst Leo XIV. hat am 20. Juli 2025 erneut ein Ende des Kriegs im Heiligen Land gefordert. Man solle die „Barbarei des Krieges sofort beenden und eine friedliche Lösung des Konflikts finden.“
„An die internationale Gemeinschaft appelliere ich, das humanitäre Recht einzuhalten und die Verpflichtung zum Schutz der Zivilbevölkerung zu respektieren sowie das Verbot kollektiver Bestrafung, wahlloser Gewaltanwendung und der Zwangsvertreibung der Bevölkerung zu beachten.“

20 July 2025. The Pope appealed for “an immediate halt to the barbarity of the war” and for “a peaceful resolution of the conflict”. He urged the international community to observe humanitarian law and respect the obligation to protect civilians, “as well as the prohibition against collective punishment, indiscriminate use of force and forced displacement of the population”.
