Things are looking grim for BOCA parent Kraft Heinz on the heels of its latest earnings report, with CEO Miguel Patricio admitting that the company is falling behind in the plant-powered revolution. TAKE ACTION: Tell Kraft Heinz that the only way it will “ketchup” to competitors is to make BOCA an all-vegan brand with a comment on its latest Instagram post!
On this week’s earnings call, Patricio stated that Kraft Heinz is “the company that had the first plant-based burger, the Boca burger, but [finds itself] far behind the plant-based market today.”
This news isn’t surprising: Despite the fact that ditching dairy would ‘behoof’ cows as well as consumers looking for vegan products, BOCA is still clinging to cruel dairy in its All-American burger, as well as its bowls--and it even recently launched new dairy-filled skillet meals.
Meanwhile, fully plant-based competitors like Beyond Meat and Impossible are dominating the headlines, debuting at chains like Burger King, Hardee’s, Dunkin’, and more. And even older BOCA competitors are starting to fuel the plant-powered revolution by dropping animal ingredients and debuting new burgers, like Lightlife’s “bleeding” vegan burger and MorningStar’s vegan “Cheezeburger.” As these companies go completely vegan and open up all their products to a wider (and rapidly growing!) market, once-household name BOCA is falling behind.
Help BOCA see that consumers’ appetite for cow’s milk is curdling--and a vegan product line is the future! Leave a quick, polite comment on its parent company’s Heinz Ketchup page to say that the only way BOCA will “ketchup” with competitors is to go all-vegan!
