Hey everyone, this is a pretty big milestone to have hit, and the amount of people coming in and supporting the petition has snowballed in the last couple of weeks. But whether this will have any effect is still up in the air, because we still don't know what sort of deal Koei Tecmo has with Sony, and I'd say we won't know until sometime after the game's PS4 release. It makes sense that they wouldn't sacrifice any possibly PS4 sales by commenting on the possibility of a PC release. Is there a possibility? Well, statements that Keoi Tecmo have made about Nioh on PC have been couched in qualifying terms, director Fumihiko Yasuda said that "We currently do not have any plans to release Nioh for PC." This seems pretty deliberate wording, and leaves it open to a possibility of a port in future. When Angry Joe asked about a PC release, the response was (paraphrasing) "not at this time", so again we see this is not a straight up no. Keep in mind that there are plenty of examples of games that were originally supposed to be exclusives, yet came to PC anyway. Dragon Quest Heroes, developed by KT's own in house studio Omega Force was originally a Playstation exclusive, and later made its way onto Steam. This is how I suspect things might go with Nioh, they will quietly announce a port sometime down the line. So while the petition may not have any effect, it's at least showing that there is a demand there, and that is important. I appreciate everyone's support so far!
