All Victorian Councils are under pressure from the Victorian Cat Management Strategy.  An Agricultural Department 10-year plan which will cause more deaths of cats and wildlife.  It uses false figures, false terms, and misinformation.  Claiming cats 'spread diseases and cause traffic collisions, leading to property damage and human injuries'.  Prolific misuse of the term 'feral' to harm outdoor cats, and the homeless: 'cat containment assists feral cat management efforts by removing the challenge of distinguishing between pet and feral cats'.  Mandating containment, and centralising statewide records for curfews.  The Australian Pet Welfare Foundation scientific evidence has not been mentioned.

Please fill in Stonnington's Domestic Animal Management Plan survey by 1st of September: https://connectstonnington.vic.gov.au/DAMP  Save-a-Dog Scheme's No-Kill pound was kept by only one vote, and is up for review within a year.  Community Cat Programs reduce the number of stray cats in pounds and shelters, and free up more resources to care for and re-home dogs, also saving councils a million dollars.  (links in main page)

Please tell Melbourne what you think of their faulty online surveys, and failures of community engagement, by 10th September: https://participate.melbourne.vic.gov.au/community-engagement-policy-2025
To make the 14-hr cat curfew, 6pm to 8am (not 8pm to 6am as misreported by news and AI https://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/meeting/future-melbourne-committee-01-april-2025  Melbourne told untruths that Stonnington and Merri-bek had mandated cat containment.
Melbourne's Mayor states that he wants all Metropolitan Councils to have uniform cat laws.  Melbourne Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation funds 'significant ongoing support' to the private Invasive Species Council which pushes for Australia-wide cat curfews, calls urban cats 'feral', and hawks false figures - inciting hate-speech and threats.
The City of Melbourne has hidden AdvoCats April submission from their 'Domestic Animal Management Plan 2026-2029 Community Engagement Summary Report'.  With bias, the report cites their grantee - Friends of Royal Park.  Royal Park was used as an excuse for curfew, and untruths about Merri-bek.  AdvoCats have re-submitted to the August second-round: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QI_0w4GDwamQuEWNCsUiE-mGqxRxRQCpD1jxH6PXb5o

Mick Harvey's Melbourne muso-cat Misha, and his comments on Melbourne's curfew: https://www.facebook.com/reel/632404332661949  Wish he could speak to Melbourne's Mayor.

If you haven't already, please register for the online surveys with Local Councils.  Councils often use open-worldwide, unverifiable, surveys to push through 'mandated cat containment' - keeping residents unaware.  Watch for the wording, pretending 'safe', 'welfare', 'protection', 'responsible', faulty estimates, and misinformation.  Science proves that cat curfews fail to save wildlife.  Curfews kill both more cats and more wildlife.  Please share the actual scientific evidence - links are in the main petition page.  Irresponsible councils make ten-times-more expense by ordering ineffective curfews.  Petitions are rejected - so we need many individual voices speaking-up for Community Cat Programs.  Thank you!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQbK3R36Xjg  https://petwelfare.org.au/community-cat-programs
