What changes or improvements at the Old Town School of Folk Music do the students themselves want to see?
According to a recent Students of Old Town School survey (taken by almost 400 people), they want:
• More transparency, communication and student involvement
• An annual meeting to inform the community about the School’s enrollment, financial condition and strategy
• Revival of the regular “First Friday” open house program in Lincoln Square
• A designated student seat or seats on the School’s board of directors
• Student involvement in the search process for a new top administrator
• A student advisory board with members chosen by a student vote
• Lower costs for classes

Students of Old Town School is the new name for the organization we created last year called Save Old Town School -- which raised questions about OTS's announced plan to sell its building at 909 W. Armitage and helped cause the Board of Directors to reverse those plans.
