I Exhibit art of our landscape in Holmfirth Art Week

I was part of the Holmfirth Art Week 3rd - 9th July 2022. My exhibit was based on the area in this petition that we are acting to protect!

I think this really highlights why the Ancient people would have chosen this area. Its geographical location on the island and the natural resources and routes to reach the sea and rest of the island as well as male female symbology that matches other sites style like Bellas Knapp Gloucestershire and Uley Long barrow and Cornvalley cairn the Isle of Man. We also have the later art of the Sheena na gig statues that still were being made after the Norman conquest that have importance to male female symbology and fertility.

So.. back to the exhibition..

There were 4 pieces of art i submitted that were by three different artists Claire Lyons, Aaron Houndle, Hammad Alnajjer and myself, to help people see, reflect on and understand the heritage and beauty of this landscape as our ancestors did..i made "Ancient maps of the realm" project based on the "style" of the Allansia maps in the Warhammer "Out of the pit" book but real life maps that are actually better or close accuracy to the John Speed, Jeffries and Alex Hogg maps.. ideas of different maps.. i made some vintage style distressed canvasses like the map in the Time Bandits film. And a 3D creative journal sketchbook and various style scrolls.

I think the project was a success. I also made items for the craft market as well!

And there is now interest through the Archaeology groups and also the Warhammer groups.

I will put some more pictures of the other exhibits
