WHEN WAS WOODEDGE AVENUE CONSTRUCTED? And why Two Murders?
a strange design & build at the Rose & Crown Almondbury seems to be Symbolic of the Roundwood slopes being off limits but the top accessible. Its definitely a later addition as not in Old photos.
Rose 7 crown Building Addition to Entrance strange "railing" with a sectioned off "Square" that is on a SLOPE. (like the slopes of Roundwood that are blocked off by trees. Yet the top/pub is accessible (like the top of the hill with the houses) NOTE that I had noticed this because of the J.P. WILD development of the Co-operative store. & asked them to leave the railing alone.
People on a local Facebook group are saying there was a "murder" in that pub, not a great many years ago. I have also found evidence of a Murder ON THE top of the Hill at Woodedge avenue. in the 1980s that will not have been good publicity or image for the hill. https://ibb.co/7nTyrPN
I still haven't been able to establish when the Woodege avenue was built. It could have been before Kirklees council was formed. Here is the earliest record of building & planning for that road: 1986 https://ibb.co/QfLyLQc

Actually in the Dr Who Google 50th anniversary game https://www.google.com/doodles/doctor-whos-50th-anniversary the final level of the game features a tiled floor. Now the Rose & Crown pub has or Had a tiled Floor beside it. Right next to the Tardis. & the Tiles are indicative of the 1 tile that is fences off. in fact the game features fenced off tiles you cannot go on. I think the developers of the game may have researched this location when looking for inspiration for the game. Existing Tardis locations of police Boxes. I believe its significant & worth noting that the two Murders are not good publicity for the area or Hill & that the pub has a feature that has a MEANING & Symbolism of the Mound. Whoever built it, i do not know
I need to establish exactly when Woodedge was constructed. so that dates for Council Formation & construction of Emley moor mast can be correlated & the dropping of use of Agbrigg as a name for the wider areas as a Celtic Term. I believe that evidence of Royal Interest in the Hill for Fires... The implantation of D symbol on the Hill thats Liberty shaped... are evidence for an empirical interest & heritage issue. Possibly a love hate relationship... Taking into account the ICI Imperial Chemical industries & the Emley Moor mast & Victoria tower.
