Firstly it is without a shadow of a doubt the most harrowing nightmare for John Herron & his family to experience losing his daughter Courtney.
Secondly the idea & possibility of knowing Henry Hammond is being granted day release, & further freedom is indicative of a “justice” system that is so out of touch in relation to ensuring perpetrators of violently heinous crimes are held accountable.
Every single time another woman’s liife is taken as a result of Violence against Women predominately perpetrated by men, the media report on it, the public is horrified yet nothing changes.
Until the next news bulletin’s report on yet another shockingly violent barbaric loss of life.
When former PM Scott Morrison attended Hannah Clarke’s & her children’s funeral, we hoped something may have been done, changed, expedited in recognition of this National Emergency. Absolutely nothing. He got his photo opportunity & flew home.
In Australia on average one woman a week is murdered by her current or former partner.
Laws were expedited however by former PM Scott Morrison when strawberries were tampered with in September 2019.
Mr Morrison said new laws were needed urgently to dissuade any copycat offenders, including increasing the maximum jail time for contaminating food from 10, to 15 years.
The laws would be drafted with an intent to pass them through Parliament this week.
“They are potentially committing serious criminal offences."
In Australia an actual strawberry is safer & receives far better protection than women do.
Our former PM was outraged when this occurred & expedited new legislation to protect strawberries & hold criminals accountable.
Women in Australia fail to receive the same respect & protection currently offered to a piece of fruit.
That is in itself beyond comprehension to write let alone process that it is a fact.
No wonder we are fed up with the inaction of the Federal Government in relation to Violence Against Women.
Not withstanding the Victorian Government’s continued prevalence of handing down manifestly inadequate sentencing in relation to Violence Against Women.
Henry Hammond murdered Courtney Herron. Her death was preventable
HENRY HAMMOND MUST NEVER BE RELEASED.
Once again thank you for showing your support.
Sincerely,
Lou Stricke & Amy-Summer
