Watch this consumer alert of a Toronto woman who recently bought her daughter a puppy from Kijiji who was shocked when the pet died 6 days later: http://barrie.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=436853&playlistId=1.1999486&binId=1.1272429&playlistPageNum=1 I have received hundreds of similar comments from Kijiji users who have been cheated by unscrupulous animal breeders on this classifieds site. I never expected to have so many people email me stories about their beloved pet they got on Kijiji only to discover, to their great distress, that it was sick, or when they tried to contact the seller about it, he had vanished without a trace. I never imagined the emotional and financial burden these people go through. I say to Mrs. Richelle Parham, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for eBay North America (eBay owns Kijiji), that as long as you know that animals with health problems are being sold on your site, and as long as you know that users are being cheated by unethical animal breeders on your site, Kijiji Canada should not be selling animals. Everyone - individuals, big businesses, classifieds sites, and the government - has a role to play to educate consumers and ensure the welfare of animals. Please spread the word! Barbara Lapointe
