I sent an email to Mrs. Richelle Parham, the Chief Marketing Officer for eBay North America, and to Mr. Zachary Candelario, General Manager at Kijiji Canada, to give them an update of our petition developments and reiterate our demand to prohibit the sale of animals on Kijiji Canada. With the increasing popularity of the petition, the growing list of companies disassociating themselves from the sale of pets on this classifieds site, and the discovery of more unscrupulous Kijiji users, I am hopeful that Kijiji Canada will soon demonstrate its leadership by ceasing to be a platform for puppy mills and unethical breeders and instead promote animal adoptions through registered animal rescue groups and shelters, and at the same time, by providing better tools to help individual families re-home their pets (for a small adoption fee).
