Kijiji listing pet fees and ads promotion can be paid using a credit card like Visa. Therefore, I am asking Mrs. Stacey Madge, President & Country Manager at Visa Canada, to join us in telling Kijiji to review pets ads BEFORE they go live. A request I deeply hope Visa will want to support, considering that Visa does not tolerate the use of its network for illegal activity.
Canadian law requires that any breeder selling a dog as a purebred must provide registration papers. In the province of New Brunswick, all breeders, shelters and boarding facilities must have a valid Pet Establishment License that must be included in all Kijiji ads. Kijiji is aware of these laws as stated in their pet posting policies. Kijiji does not even preemptively verify the validity of government license numbers of dog breeders from New Brunswick. Blatantly, Kijiji does not review pets ads before they go live.
Will Visa help us convince Kijiji to have a human moderation team carefully reviewing all pets ads and ensuring compliance with their posting policies and Canadian laws BEFORE they go live?
In its attempt to weed out illegal material, Visa implemented a policy that severely restricted adult content websites. Can Visa take a stand to protect animals and consumers, too?
