Thank you all so much for your support! We made it over 150,000 signatures, in fact, we have reached 154,000 !!! This has been a long journey, but thanks to your tremendous support, I feel I can continue forward until Kijiji, the top classifieds site in Canada, sets an example and exclude breeders from selling animals on its website, sending the message that animals should not be sold as just another item via classified ads. Secondhand marketplaces such as Used.ca, OfferUp, BuySellTrade.ca, letgoCanada, Craigslist and Facebook do not allow profiting from the commercial sale of animals on their sites. Puppy mills and unethical breeders may continue to exist even if Kijiji Canada stops the commercial sale of animals on its site, but at least Kijiji would not give them the perfect platform to thrive on. Too many people are misled by unethical animal breeders on Kijiji and too many animals with health problems, often because of the conditions under which they are raised and bred, are sold on this site. Please share this petition with everyone you think might be interested in seeing Kijiji bring together healthy pets with families and shelters who want to give them loving homes - not from breeders.
