letgo, a mobile phone application that allows you to buy and sell secondhand things in your neighborhood, does NOT allow the sale of pets and live animals. Letgo joins secondhand marketplaces Used.ca and BuySellTrade.ca which also do not allow profiting from the commercial sale of animals on their sites. Too many people are misled by unethical animal breeders on classified sites and too many animals with health problems, often because of the conditions under which they are raised and bred, are sold on these sites. Moreover, classified sites like Kijiji are unable to distinguish between reputable and certified breeders and those simply profiting from the sale of animals, without regard to their welfare.
