Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre imposed a ban on pit bulls after the mauling death of a Pointe-aux-Trembles resident last summer. It would be much simpler for everyone – for the humans, for the animals, and for the City of Montreal - to just ban the commercial sale of animals on classified sites in Quebec. Craigslist did it after the pit bull mauling death of a San Francisco boy in 2005.
