Petition updateKijiji Canada: Stop puppy mills and prohibit the sale of household pets @KijijiPuppy dies within hours of purchase from Kijiji

Sadly, there are too many stories from Kijiji customers who answered a pet ad only to realize with horror that they were supporting an unethical breeder or puppy mill: http://kijiji-pet-stories.tumblr.com/ How can Kijiji ignore these stories? How can Kijiji ignore the 112,000 people who signed this petition, the 31 animal welfare organizations, 6 public figures, 1 mayor and the leader of the Tuxedo Party of Canada who support this campaign? How can Kijiji ignore the 6 companies - TD Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, the National Bank of Canada, Tangerine Bank, Toyota Canada, and the shopping website zulily – who pull their ads from Kijiji’s pet sales pages? Does Kijiji wants to help those who irresponsibly breed animals for profit or does Kijiji wants to help pets? As long as Kijiji knows that animals with health problems are being sold on its site (perhaps because of the conditions under which they are raised and bred), Kijiji should not be selling animals. Kijiji should stop the commercial sale of animals and instead promote adoption of healthy and friendly animals through registered rescue groups and shelters, while helping individual families carefully rehome their pets for a small adoption fee to ensure their future well-being. Will you join me in asking Kijiji an important question? 1) Using Twitter, Facebook or email: Twitter: @Kijiji Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Kijiji.ca Email: KijijiECITeam@environicspr.com 2) Ask this question below or write your own: Does Kijiji wants to help those who irresponsibly breed animals for profit or does Kijiji wants to help pets? 3) If Kijiji responds to you, please send me an email at barbara@petfoster.org or a Tweet at @BarbaraLapointe and I'll post your news as an update on the petition page. Sincerely, Barbara Lapointe
