Good news! Earl Grey is proudly lending his paw to support our campaign against the commercial sale of animals on Kijiji! Earl Grey is the leader of the ‘Tuxedo Party of Canada’ - a political movement aimed at improving the welfare of felines in Halifax and around the world. The candidate for Prime Minister of Canada joins the mayor of Town of Mount-Royal, singer Tara Oram Simms, musician Mark Spicoluk, 31 animal welfare organizations, including the Humane Society International – Canada, Zoocheck Canada and the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies, and the 111,500 people who support this campaign.
Please take a moment to send Earl Grey a BIG thank you for his support by posting on its Facebook page or by Tweet at @TuxedoParty
With the increasing popularity of my petition, the growing list of public figures who support this campaign and of companies who disassociate themselves from the sale of pets on this classified site, - TD Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, the National Bank of Canada, Tangerine Bank, Toyota Canada, and the shopping website zulily all stopped advertising on Kijiji’s pet sale pages, - I am hopeful that Kijiji Canada will soon demonstrate leadership by stopping the commercial sale of animals on its site and instead promote adoption of healthy and friendly animals through registered rescue groups and shelters, while helping individual families carefully rehome their pets for a small adoption fee to ensure their future well-being.
