Three children have now died due to insufficient care in the border detention center “camps.” This is unacceptable and appalling. This petition is to call the people in charge of ICE, Border Patrol, and Congress to close down these camps. This is not about political parties or sides of the aisle- this is about protecting children and giving them proper homes while their asylum claims and immigration cases are determined.

We are asking everyone to close these camps now. Do not allow another child to die because of the improper care at the border detention camps.  

To go further, I propose a viable solution to where these children should be housed and with all your help, I think the government should truly consider it.

I am asking everyone who signs this petition to agree to, in exchange for the closure of the detention centers and the releasing of the refugee and migrant children, to the following conditions:

-I will agree to take in and house a child who is currently detained until their parent or a suitable permanent home can be found for them.

-I agree to submit a completed instant nationwide criminal background check to verify that I have no criminal convictions involving violence and to show that I am capable of caring for a child. -I agree to submit to a home visit from Department of Child Services (or equivalent state department) to show that I can provide suitable living conditions for a child.

Free these children! The people who sign this petition are willing to take them in and provide the care that is not being given in the detention camps.
