I've learned that one cub has been captured and wildlife officials are trying to capture a 2nd. Park officials still plan on euthanasia. Read article here:

A move to kill the bear (or bears) responsible for the death of the hiker has nothing to do with science or a need to protect the public. For starters, there is no way they can determine for certain if they have the correct bear since DNA tests have not been completed and second, even if DNA proves they have captured the correct bear killing it or them does not remove the possibility of people running into grizzlies in the future.
