Petition updateKellogg's: Do NOT add peanut flour to your products frequently consumed by children
Is Kellogg’s Putting the Allergic at Risk to Avoid the Costs of the FSMA?

As we cross the 23,500 signature threshold, reports of Keebler and Austin crackers now reformulated with peanut flour appearing in retail outlets have begun to filter in. If you have family, friends or colleagues coping with peanut allergies in their family, PLEASE let them know.
Since our last update, Kellogg's has reached out to me to say that the reason for adding peanuts to these varieties has nothing to do with enhancing the nutritional content as we surmised. But the company refuses to say WHY they made this reckless decision, saying only that the "needed" to make this change and that it was "a hard decision".
That leaves two questions: "WHY?" and "WHY NOW?" We believe that Kellogg's is taking this action now to avoid the additional costs of complying with directives of the Food Safety Modernization (FSMA) that will become mandatory in September. In essence, we believe they may be making their products MORE allergenic to avoid directives intended to make products SAFER.
Please read the article below for a full explanation.
In the meantime, thanks for your continued activism as there is much more at stake now. Please continue to share the petition with your friends, family and colleagues, and please become the local champion to this cause by contacting your local TV and radio stations and newspapers.
Thanks and best regards,
