Hershey Entertainment and Resorts is known for their theaters, but not so much for their security theater. This needs to change, please be advised and be aware.

It is early in the vacation season, I'm in just a few Hershey Park groups on one social media site and already there are multiple posts about weapons making it past "security" in various Hershey Entertainment and Resorts locations. Hershey appears to heavily rely upon scanners that miss weapons but appear to be excellent at picking up people's eyeglass cases. People also report security isn't watching those scanners too closely. Bags aren't being checked the majority of the time. People have made it into the park with fully loaded magazines, razor blades, pocket knives one of which flew out of a roller-coaster rider's pocket and almost hit someone with the blade open at Sky Rush. And this isn't just a pocket knife or two being missed, there have been people saying they have one on them every time they go, the amount of people who admitted they have pocket knives alone get through security was eye opening. There have been people saying they've gotten weapons into the Giant Center as well which bodes well for the emotionally unregulated Tucker Carlson crowd in September.

One park goer says: "I have expressed my concern that every three weeks and only every three weeks I get asked to open my bags! Not one thing is different not one thing! I told them I would prefer to open my bags every time! This makes me wonder what else they're missing?! Hey Hershey are you following this?"

Another park goer says: "I know this isn't the park but we had someone had a pocket knife at the last concert we went to, they pulled it out and used it quick for something and put it away and I thought whoa that's not cool that got thru security. Hershey security in general needs tightening up and needs to be stricter!"

Another park goer says: "I will not incriminate myself but these machines are for the most part beatable if you want to bring something in. I'd love to contract a security assessment with HP."

This isn't okay. Hershey absolutely can afford to keep us safe, they can choose not to host a performer who not only attracts but encourages violence and disobedience. These are the types of people who will not take it well being told simple things like they're not in the correct seats, they couldn't even handle an election. Maybe stab proof vests will be issued to employees for this event? Do local residents, business owners and other people in the area get one too? Hershey needs to speak up and be responsible.
