Hi everyone & welcome back.
Thank you so much for signing this petition. Although we are slowly making progress the speed cameras have been breaking news lately.
Doug Ford has made it clear: his government is moving to ban speed cameras across Ontario, calling them a “cash grab.” But we know the truth — in Brampton, these cameras have slowed down traffic and made our streets safer.
The good news is that Brampton City Council is standing up to Ford. They’ve voted unanimously to fight back and keep cameras, at least in school zones and residential areas, because they know these cameras save lives.
Here’s why it matters: speed cameras in Brampton have cut speeds by up to 20 km/h in some zones. Every slowdown means fewer collisions, fewer injuries, and safer streets for kids, seniors, and families. If Ford’s ban goes through, Brampton loses one of its most effective tools for road safety.
We can’t let this happen. Now is the time to raise our voices and stand with the City of Brampton.
Please share this petition today with your friends, family, on social media, and in group chats. Tell your story — why do you want speed cameras to stay? A personal reason makes people listen. And when you post, tag Doug Ford, local officials, and media so they can see that this city won’t be silenced.
Brampton is showing courage, but the province needs to hear that it’s not just City Hall that cares — it’s all of us. Every signature, every share, every voice makes this movement stronger. Let’s back Brampton and make this message too loud to ignore.
Forget 100's. We need to get 1000's.
Thank you for standing up for safer streets with me,
Marcus
