Friends, we had a fantastic day, as we added a new cosponsor to the Assembly bill, we received another YES vote from an Assembly representative, and we are now over 18,000 signatures! However, we still have a lot more work to do. We need all your help to email your NJ district legislators, asking them to support and cosponsor Senate bill S260 and Assembly bill A2758 for the automatic reinstatement of our cost of living adjustment.
There are several ways to contact your legislators. You can either call their office, email them, or send them snail mail to your legislative district. If you have a personal connection with a legislator, we would suggest making a phone call and then follow up with a personal thank you letter.
The easiest way to contact your legislators, is by emailing your Senator and Assembly representatives. We have two options to help you make it simple to email your representatives.
Option 1: You can send an email to all three of your representatives, through the Official NJ State Legislative website. There is an interactive map and you will need to click on your district, then click on the “See District Details” tab. Next select a representatives to email and then check all 3 boxes for your representatives. You will need to write your own personal letter, asking your legislators to support and cosponsor both of these bills. Make it personal and from the heart. Remember to include both the Senate Bill S260 and Assembly Bill A2758 in the letter, as it will goto all three reps. You must live in the District and include all the required information on the form to make sure your message counts!

Option 2: Through this petition platform, Change. Org, they made us a prefilled form letter that is very easy to use. All you need to do is type in your full name, a valid street address, ZIP Code, and your email address. You will see the pre-populated letter and your legislators. Once you hit submit, the system automatically emails your legislators. The letter will formally address each of the legislators separately and places your name and address at the bottom of the letter, which is required by your legislative district to make your voice count! This platform works well and a local legislative district Chief of Staff has verified the email platform works well. It takes less than a minute to complete this form. You must be a NJ resident, if not ask your friends and family in NJ to email their legislators. All voices matter!
