Keep the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium

Keep the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium
The Issue
The decision to move the Kansas City Chiefs across the state line to Kansas is more than disappointing—it is a betrayal of the community and the fan base known as Chiefs Kingdom. This move disregards the people who have supported the team through every high and low and rests on a vote that was misleading and fundamentally flawed.
The vote used to justify this decision was not transparent. Funding for renovations to Arrowhead Stadium was bundled with a separate and controversial proposal to relocate the Royals’ stadium downtown. Many residents opposed the Royals move and voted against the measure as a result. Instead of returning with a clear, single-issue vote for each stadium, the front office chose to walk away entirely.
Arrowhead Stadium is more than a venue; it is a symbol of Kansas City’s identity and heritage. For decades, it has been the fortress of Chiefs Kingdom, the site of historic moments and unmatched home-field advantage. Its design, open-air environment, and record-setting noise create an atmosphere that cannot be replicated. Leaving Arrowhead means abandoning a legacy built on pride, unity, and tradition—all in the name of profit.
The organization claims this move is “in the fans’ best interest,” yet the voices of Chiefs Kingdom say otherwise. The proposed stadium would seat roughly 10,000 fewer fans to make room for luxury suites, prioritizing revenue over accessibility. Its generic design would strip away the character that makes Arrowhead iconic, along with the postseason advantages that have made it one of the most feared venues in sports. The design of Arrowhead allows for it to still hold the record for the loudest stadium in the world. Pair that with the lack of a dome at the current stadium, letting in the cold weather, and we get a homefield advantage in the post season that is second to none.
Keeping the Chiefs at Arrowhead is essential to preserving the spirit of our community. Relocation threatens decades of tradition and alienates a multi-generational fan base. Any promised economic benefits are speculative, but the cultural and emotional losses are guaranteed.
We urge team owners, city officials, and stakeholders to reconsider this decision. Football is not just a business—it is part of our shared identity. Let us protect the passion, history, and pride that Arrowhead Stadium represents and keep the Kansas City Chiefs where they belong.
Sign this petition to stand with Chiefs Kingdom and demand that our team remains in the heart of Kansas City. Together, we can make our voices heard and preserve this legacy for future generations
