Dear XFL / USFL. With the talks of the pending merger the fans are hearing that some of the teams will be removed and that one of those teams might be the Houston Roughnecks in favor of the Houston Gamblers. While the Gamblers do have a history in Houston, that history is past and the Roughnecks are the true spring team of our city. 

The impact they made on fans in the 2020 and 2023 seasons was huge as many fans spent hours making custom hard hats and costumes to come out and support the team. Even more fans were able to meet and interact with the players after games. Furthermore the name “Roughnecks” is more synonymous with the feel of houston as much of the populous is connected to the oil and natural gas industry. 

Chosing the Gamblers over the Roughnecks would not be good for the bottom line as it would mean almost starting over with trying to build a fan base. One that the Roughnecks already have. 

We implore you, please keep the Roughnecks.
