Details:

  • A request was submitted by Todd Warren (Baltimore County Planning Board - District 1). The Farmyard is located in District 3.
  • The request would re-zone 8.7 acres of Renee Wilson's farm currently zoned RC 2 (agriculture) and change it to BM CR (commercial).
  • Renee Wilson, owner of the 21159 Old York Rd property and The Farmyard LLC, did not submit this request and is fully against it.
  • You can learn more about the different zoning intents and typical uses via Baltimore County's Citizen’s Guide to Zoning
  • The Planning Board Public Hearing is on February 13th at 6pm at Loch Raven High School. You are highly encouraged to attend.

Response from Councilman Wade Kach (From Farmyard Facebook Post on 1/25): "Hello all, please share this to those who have expressed concern. This zoning request was made by a member of the planning board, Todd Warren, and not by me or my office. This is public record. It is also odd that it was made by a planning board member who does not directly represent this area. I was not consulted in this, nor was the District 3 Planning Board Member, which is also extremely unusual, and disappointing. If I had been consulted, I would have instructed the applicant that it was not advisable to submit. I suspect the person who made this request knew this, which, I suspect, was why I was not consulted. Please be assured that the zoning decision on this issue is made by me alone, with the support of Councilmatic Courtesy. I am committed to keeping our rural areas, rural. This requested zoning change would go against this. Unless there is significant community support for this change, at first glance, this is not a zoning change I would entertain."

How can you help?
