Keep the Alert Slider in Future OnePlus Devices
The Issue
As a devoted follower and supporter of OnePlus, and an active member of the OnePlus Community, I feel saddened to hear that one of the iconic features of the brand, the Alert Slider, which I have always held a special place in my heart, will no longer be found on the next smartphones. To be honest with you, I just can't imagine a day without it.
Having made its way on each flagship from the past 10 years, still present to this very day, it is a defining feature that has significantly enhanced the user experience, whether by letting the user know the current phone mode (Mute/Vibrate/Sound) by just looking at it, or being very simple to use and providing a satisfying sound and feedback when used to change modes.
OnePlus has always been a brand that doesn't have users; they have fans, devoted fans, to be specific. When they launch a new product category, people go nuts about it. Remember the original Nord? People bought it within a few hours. That's three batches of pre-orders where only the name was told, nothing else!
Let me give you a more recent example, did you know that the OnePlus 13 sold about 100.000 units in the first 30 minutes of pre-orders? That means only one thing - their smartphones are good, and are making people switch to OnePlus from other brands.

When the OnePlus 10T was launched, OnePlus tried an experiment; the Alert Slider went missing. The answer they got was simple: Bring it back. So why are they doing a U-turn now?
Let's be assured that OnePlus continues to prioritize the users' feedback above everything and refrain from becoming another 'ordinary' brand that maybe pays too much attention to Apple. Please sign this petition if you wish to keep the Alert Slider on future OnePlus devices.

It is essential to understand the emotional and practical attachment that all the users, including me, have with the Alert Slider, and so please consider retaining it in the future OnePlus devices. If an action button is what you want to integrate, then please proceed, but also with the Alert Slider. This way OnePlus can evolve and become better, all while keeping the iconic features for everyone to enjoy, and as I already said - It's the best hardware moving part from the smartphone.
