Keep Sky Q Alive — Make Satellite TV a Permanent Choice, Not a Phase-Out
The Issue

Sky Q is the last set-top box Sky built for satellite, and millions of households across the UK and Ireland still rely on it every day. It records without buffering, drives multi-room viewing, and works without depending on broadband speed — which matters enormously for rural homes, older viewers, and anyone whose internet can’t carry a 4K stream.
Sky has stopped selling Q to new customers and now pushes Stream and Glass instead. That’s a business choice, not a technical necessity. The recent Sky–SES agreement proves satellite capacity is available well into the next decade — so the question isn’t whether Q can survive, it’s whether Sky will let it.
We ask Sky to:
• Keep Sky Q available to new customers, not just existing ones
• Commit publicly to supporting Q for the long term, with a published timeline
• Continue updating Sky Q with new features and app support
• Stop quietly steering customers away from satellite at renewal
Satellite TV isn’t obsolete — it’s a choice millions of people still make, and they deserve to keep making it.
