Keep Sheetz Out of Philadelphia: Support Wawa, Support Local

The Issue

Philadelphia is not up for sale.

For generations, Wawa has been part of Philadelphia culture, not just a convenience store. It’s where we grab hoagies (not subs) before Eagles games. It’s where neighborhoods stop late at night. It’s local. It’s ours.

Now, Sheetz — a Western Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh-centric chain — is attempting to move into Greater Philadelphia, including Montgomery County and surrounding suburbs. We strongly reject this.

This petition is a clear and united statement from Philadelphians and Philly-area residents:

If you sign this petition, you are stating that you will:

  • NEVER shop at a Sheetz location in the Greater Philadelphia area
  • NEVER buy gas, food, or any product from Sheetz locally
  • NEVER support Sheetz’s expansion into Philadelphia County or its suburbs
  • Actively choose Wawa instead — every time

Why we oppose Sheetz entering Philly territory:

  • Wawa is Philadelphia culture.
We don’t get “subs” for Eagles games — we get hoagies from Wawa. That’s who we are.
  • Sheetz is not part of Philly culture.
No one is choosing Sheetz before an Eagles game. No one is asking for this.
  • This is about supporting LOCAL.
Money spent at Wawa stays in our region. Money spent at Sheetz goes back to Western PA.
  • Sheetz’s expansion takes jobs, customers, and community support away from our own local brand.
  • Sheetz already has its territory.
Western PA can support Sheetz. Philadelphia supports Wawa.

Our stance is firm:

We strongly oppose Sheetz opening locations in:

  • Philadelphia County
  • Montgomery County
  • Bucks County
  • Chester County
  • Delaware County

This is Wawa territory — and it should remain that way.

We are not asking Sheetz for compromises.
We are not interested in coexistence.

We are making it clear, in an organized and public way:

Philadelphia does not want Sheetz.
We will not support it.
And we will not allow our culture to be diluted by an outside brand that does not belong here.

Sheetz should respect regional identity, stop pushing into Greater Philadelphia, and rely on its own base for support — just as Wawa has always done here.

Stick to your turf.
We’ll stick to ours.
